We focus on one child. Yours.
A vibrant, happy, aspirational community where we focus on one child. Yours.
As a parent, finding the right school is one of the most important decisions that you will make in your child’s life, and the strong foundations laid by a high quality and nurturing education will give them the best start in life. Founded in 1753, Fulneck School provides a caring community of around 400 pupils aged from 3 to 18 who benefit from a unique, all round education in an inspirational historic setting, where each and every child is encouraged to reach their full potential.
With an enviable staff to pupil ratio, our Extended Early Years and Junior Curriculum programme provides breadth, excellence and excitement both in the classroom and outside in our beautiful outdoor learning space. Specialist teachers in PE, Spanish, Music and Dance enhance the learning experience, and our tracking and monitoring system ensures consistent progress.
At our Senior School and Sixth Form, students benefit from a broad range of academic subjects and an extremely varied programme of extra-curricular activities, with opportunities for leadership and personal enrichment. Academic high fliers are stretched by a challenging curriculum, whilst children with dyslexia are supported and guided in our highly acclaimed Learning Support Unit. Supporting and developing the talents and strengths of each individual pupil is at the heart of all we do.
Our recently refurbished and vibrant, state of the art Sixth Form Centre is an inspirational place to study and prepare for higher education or the employment world. Here students can choose from a broad range of subjects, achieving excellent examination results and securing their place of first choice at excellent universities.
But life at Fulneck offers so much more than what goes on inside the classroom, and the exciting and varied activities outside of lessons are just as important. Your child will have the opportunity to try out and excel in an impressive list of clubs and activities, ranging from the extremely popular Seismology Club to the more traditional Choir and Drama Clubs. Sporting opportunities are also aplenty, with the usual football, rugby, netball and hockey on offer, in addition to activities such as golf and mountain biking! With so much going on, there really is something for everyone to enjoy.
Our secure School Bus service covers routes from Kirklees, Keighley and North Leeds. With our ‘home from home’ boarding houses for pupils aged 9 upwards, busy parents can also take advantage of our full and flexi-boarding facilities. Our Day Boarding option means you can even arrange for your child to stay in School till 9 pm for tea, prep and activities if you know you will be home late after a meeting away.
To discover how your child will flourish at Fulneck School, contact us to arrange an individual visit or come to one of our Open Days. We look forward to welcoming you and your family very soon!
